Choosing a surface
Block paving or resin?
Both are good choices. The right one depends on your house, how you use the drive and what you want to look after.
Smooth, seamless, permeable
No joints, very little upkeep and rain drains straight through. The finish is uniform, so a repair is harder to hide, and the base underneath has to be right first time.
Widening the entrance or crossing the pavement needs a dropped kerb, which is applied for separately through Bradford Council.

Block paving is hard-wearing, repairable and gives you plenty of choice on pattern and colour. If a section ever needs lifting for a new cable or pipe, it can be relaid without a patch showing. Herringbone is the strongest pattern for a drive that takes cars.

Resin
Resin driveways
Resin gives a smooth, seamless finish with no joints for weeds to push through. It is permeable when laid on the right base, so rain soaks through rather than running down the drive into the road. It suits both modern houses and older stone properties, depending on the stone colour you pick.

Drainage
Getting rid of the water
Many front gardens slope towards the house, and a new hard surface can make that worse. We fit channel drains across garage doors and front thresholds and plan the falls so water heads for the road or a soakaway, not your front step.
