How we lay it
Four steps to a lawn that lasts
The grass is the easy bit. Everything that matters happens before it is unrolled.
Stone and compact
A layer of crushed stone spread and compacted. It lets rain through and gives the surface something firm to sit on.
Level it off
A fine layer of sand or dust screeded dead level. Any hump or hollow here will show through the finished lawn.
Fit and finish
Grass unrolled, joins taped and glued, edges fixed, then kiln-dried sand brushed in to weight it down and stand the fibres up.
New builds
Finishing a new build garden
New build gardens often come with compacted builder’s spoil under a thin layer of soil, so real grass struggles and water sits on top. Artificial grass on a stone base solves both at once and gives you a finished lawn from day one.

Long gardens

Edges
The edges make or break it
The quickest way to spot cheap artificial grass is at the edges: lifting against a fence, a gap by the paving, a visible join. We fix every edge to something solid and trim it tight so it looks like it grew there.

- Timber or steel edging where there is nothing to fix to
- Cut neatly around beds, trees and posts
- Joins glued on tape, not just pinned
- Final brush to lift the pile after fitting
Design it properly
A lawn looks better with something to frame it.
Paths, borders and gravel edges turn a rectangle of grass into a garden. We can plan the planting and paving around the lawn so the whole space hangs together.
